BIZILABE, a leisure initiative to promote science and technology among young people, arrives at Tolosaldea

Tolosaldea Garatzen and Elhuyar signed this agreement this morning, together with the mayors of the region, in the presentation of Bizilabe Tolosaldea. The aim of the project is to reflect and promote with the community greater participation in the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) and related professions.

  

Tolosaldea Garatzen approved in 2018 the TOLOSALDEA SARETZEN Strategic Plan (2018-2025), within the work program “Eco-Industry 4.0”, the work line “Training and Internalization and Promotion of Talent”. In this context and in order to meet these objectives, the BIZILABE TOLOSALDEA project has been launched in collaboration with Elhuyar. As proof of this, today they have signed the Iker Urruzola Aizpurua Convention, President of Tolosaldea Garatzen, and Jon Abril Olaetxea, Director General of Elhuyar.Municipal mayors also attend.

Bizilabe in Tolosaldea

In order to deepen the STEAM content and awaken the STEM vocations, Bizilabe de Tolosaldea aims to respond to the needs of Tolosaldea. The agreement signed today contains the following actions:

1.STEAM INSERTION AND TRAINING

Training for those responsible for regulated education centers, municipal technicians and businesses in the region is a commitment to their STEAM area and to Bizilabe.

2.STEAM DIAGNOSIS OF THE REGION

A perception study will be conducted on the STEAM area and the STEM professions among the youth of the region.

3.LOCATE BIZILABE TOLOSALDEA

Workshops will be offered in the municipalities of the region and the establishment of a pilot centre offering continuous activity throughout the year will be sought.

In tune with Elhuyar's philosophy

Elhuyar wants to encourage collaboration and create a community in some way, expanding the network of Bizilabe research centres. It aims to carry out projects in collaboration with other actors. In this case Bizilabe Tolosaldea will be carried out with Tolosaldea Garatzen and therefore with the municipalities of Tolosaldea, and with the companies and agents of the valley, so that the young people of the region have room in the future STEAM.
