The new edition of the CAF-Elhuyar Awards is now underway. The objective of the CAF-Elhuyar Awards, organized by Elhuyar in collaboration with CAF with the sponsorship of NEIKER, is to recognize and promote the dissemination of scientific and technological research and issues in Basque.

The motto of this year’s edition will be konta(kta)tu. The prize has a twofold objective: to encourage authors (professionals, people who are fond of science and agents of the scientific field) to contribute their knowledge, research or projects, that is, to encourage them to count them and to respond to the concerns, needs or interests of people, that is, to connect with society. This year the CAF-ELHUYAR Awards encourage both professionals and people who are fond of science to count on and connect with society. Work may be presented in the following categories:

• Disclosure article. The winner will receive a prize of 2,000 euros, an annual subscription to Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal.
• Article based on the doctoral thesis. The winner will receive a prize of 2,000 euros, an annual subscription to Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal.
• Scientific journalism. The winner or winner will receive 2,000 euros, an annual subscription from Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture from Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal.
• Creation grant. This category includes projects that address the interaction between science/technology and society. The authors of the selected projects will receive a grant of EUR 5,000 for their development, as well as a sculpture.

The NEIKER Prize will also be awarded for the best article related to the primary sector; the prize consists of 2,000 euros and the sculpture of Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal, and is compatible with the other awards.
