• The CAF-Elhuyar awards are already underway. Works may be submitted until February 14, 2019.
• The objectives of the award are the recognition and promotion of the social inclusion in Basque of topics and research in the field of science and technology.
• The event celebrates its 25th anniversary.

For 25 years, the Caf-Elhuyar competition was created with the aim of bringing the world of science and technology closer to society as a whole. In fact, this year's invitation can be seen as a means of transport linking both areas: Get on the train!. The aim of the CAF-Elhuyar Awards is to promote, reward and recognize the dissemination, journalism and social inclusion in Basque of science and technology issues and research.

The prize categories are:

• Original outreach articles. It is divided into two subcategories: general outreach articles and outreach articles based on the author's doctoral thesis. The winner of each subcategory will receive a prize of 2,000 euros and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi.
• Works of scientific journalism. It awards 2,000 euros and sculpture.
• Scholarship of creation in Science Society. This category supports projects that work on the interaction between science/technology and society. The author of the selected project receives a grant of 5,000 euros for its execution, as well as a sculpture.

In addition, this year will also be awarded the special prize NEIKER for the best article related to the primary sector, endowed with 2,000 euros and compatible with other prizes, that is, in the case that the best work of the primary sector is also the best of another category will receive both awards.
