This year's motto is Zubiri-zubiri. In fact, the objective of CAF-Elhuyar is to recognize, reward and promote the work of people working in the bridge sector between the scientific-technological sphere and society.

The award categories are:

• Original disclosure articles. It is divided into two subcategories: general disclosure articles and disclosure articles based on the author's doctoral thesis. The winner of each subcategory will receive a prize of 2,000 euros, a year of subscription to Elhuyar magazine and a sculpture by Imanol Andonegi Mendizabal.
• [Scientific journalism]. With 2,000 euros, a year of subscription to Elhuyar magazine and is awarded with sculpture.
• [Creation scholarship in Science Society]. This category includes projects that work on the interaction between science/technology and society. The selected project author receives a grant of EUR 5 000 for its execution, as well as a sculpture.

In addition, this year the special NEIKER prize will also be awarded to the best article related to the primary sector, endowed with €2,000 and compatible with other awards, that is, if the best works in the primary sector are also the best of another category, both awards.
