ELHUYAR ZIENTZIA AZOKA The Department of Education of the Basque Government and the Basque Innovation Agency Innobasque have jointly organized STEAM Euskadi I. [Finalist of prizes in the 2020 edition].

The Department of Education of the Basque Government has analyzed 133 candidates presented by the Centro de Recerca per a l’Educació Científica i Mathematics (GROWM) and the Technical Commission constituted by the Basque Innovation Agency, Innobasque, of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and has appointed 12 of them finalists, including Elhuyar Zientazoka.

The award has two categories and Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka is finalist in this category: “The most innovative initiative in STEAM education. STEAM values innovative education initiatives with excellent results.” The resolution will be known after the summer of 2020.

In addition, Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka has been recognized with the STEAM Euskadi label for his work promoting STEAM Education in Euskadi. The Bizilabe project has also achieved the seal. Being focused on the objectives of the STEAM Euskadi Strategy and having the character of STEAM as an initiative that has passed to the first phase.

This label is awarded to organizations that are developing innovative STEAM educational initiatives with achievements (educational centers, universities, non-formal education institutions, research centers, companies…) because they are focused on the objectives of the STEAM Euskadi strategy and because they are STEAM. This is the first edition and Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka and the Bizilabe project have been included in the list of finalists.
