The Basque media association has launched the Dokusare-Hekimen project, using Elhuyar's Xenda technology.

Hekimen is an association that brings together sixty Basque companies and one hundred and thirty communication projects. Press, radio, television and network, national, local and thematic. Union of all: professional communication in Basque. As a result of this diversity, the sum of all the news published by the Hekimen media is valuable information and the Dokusare-Hekimen project, jointly developed by Hekimen and Elhuyar, was created to put that informative fluency into contact.

The project is based on relating and contacting the news generated in the different media based on the similarity of topics, using language technologies. In this way, thanks to this service, next to the news published on the website of a Hekimen media outlet, you can consult other news related to the subject, both published on the same website and in other Basque media. Behind this thematic organization is the Xenda technology developed by Elhuyar.

Thanks to this technology, the Hekimen media will offer its readers a richer, more complete information and an advanced technological service with the aim of promoting the flow of navigation between the media in Basque Internet.

In total, Xenda relates the news of 45 digital media members of the Hekimen association by topic. The search engine downloads 6 times a day all news published on websites and processes them automatically to relate them by topic. The system processes daily an average of 350 news from these 45 media outlets, 130,000 news a year.
