The report “Una noche con el morro” by Teknopolis, winner of the III Prize for Environmental Journalism of the Basque Country
The journalists Eider Carton Virto and Begoña Zubia Gallastegi, of the television program Teknopolis, produced by Elhuyar, have been the winners of the prize of the third edition of the Environmental Journalism of the Basque Country for their report “A night with disappointment”.
This report, which was broadcast in October in Euskal Telebista, is starring the Pyrenean dism, a peculiar and unknown animal of the family of the sators. In fact, long ends are extreme indicators of the health of the regattas, as they need very clean waters to live, and now it is in danger of extinction. The Life Zabalibai project is investigating the damage in the Navarra and Gipuzkoa races to improve their situation. Artikutza is one of the chosen places for this work, where the Teknopolis team made the recording. With this report, Teknopolis has won the III Prize of Environmental Journalism of Euskadi awarded by the Department of Environment, Territorial Planning and Housing of the Basque Government and Ihobe. Accesit was obtained by journalist Miguel Ángel Garrosa for a report broadcast on the radio network Radio Bilbao-Cadena Ser.
