We completed the Digital Language Diversity Project (DLDP). The closing ceremony will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz (Faculty of Letters of the UPV/EHU) on 20 July, with the presence of the 2 Young Speakers of Retail Languages. After the meeting (HIGA! ).

Elhuyar has participated in the project over the past three years along with the following members:

  • Davyth Hicks, European Language Equality Network, ELEN (France)
  • Anneli Sarhimaa and Eleonore Kruse, Mainz University (Germany)
  • Tuomo Salonen, Carelian Language Association (KKS, Finland)
  • Antton Gurrutxaga and Klara Ceberio, Elhuyar (Basque Country)

The closing ceremony will serve to present the results.

9:30-12:45, talks

  • What is the digital vitality of language and why is it important?
  • How to measure/evaluate? (Scale & Analysis of Digital Vitality of Language)
  • How to improve and promote the digital vitality of retail languages? (Digital Survival Kit)
  • Let's start by training speakers. (Training programme)
  • Political development and practical measures to reduce the ‘digital language gap’. (Roadmap)

12:45-15:00 lunch (free for attendees)

15:00-17:00, practical session

  • Measure (evaluate) the digital development of your language, plan actions, acquire new skills.
