Xabier Erkizia, winner of the creation scholarship ‘Science in Society’ of the CAF-Elhuyar Awards 2013
Erkizia explains the core of the exhibition: “Even though the stories of the image and the orality we started writing for a long time, still remain to be written by the listeners. Despite not knowing who they were, how they heard or heard, many links of the transmission of our knowledge are hidden in their silent footsteps. In search of those listeners who hide behind the testimonies of those who had the ability and right to speak with pencil, words or letters, this project or exercise entitled Silent Hearings aims to collect the remains of those deleted writings. This small exhibition is just a small step on this path.”
Last January Erkizia presented part of his live work on Radio Casares de Altza. The exhibition, which will open on 14 May, will remain open until 31 May thanks to the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the City of Zarautz.
The exhibition will be inaugurated after the CAF-Elhuyar Awards, from 18:00 hours at the Museum of Photography & Cinema Photomuseum in Zarautz.
