Iraurgi Berrikuntza, the Agency for Development and Innovation of Urola Erdia, and the Elhuyar Foundation have launched a series of pilot actions to foster scientific and technological capacities in the region. The activities carried out in recent weeks have been aimed at students of Compulsory Secondary Education. In addition to offering training to teachers on the methodological basis for the teaching of science and technology, several pilot workshops have been organized with students. The first result of the actions developed is the fair “Bizilabe” held on March 31 in Azkoitia Square. In it, young people from all schools in the region have demonstrated their prototypes of microbiology, electronics and prototyping. In addition, experiments have been conducted in the field of polymers or nanotechnology.
More than a hundred young people from Floreaga, Ikasberri, Iraurgi, Urola and Xabier Munibe have presented in the central square of Azkoitia the advanced scientific and technological prototypes developed in the workshops offered. These prototypes have been created thanks to the group work carried out in five workshops, with the aim of improving the training and training of students of Compulsory Secondary Education in the region.
What was seen at the fair is the result of the different initiatives developed in recent weeks. The initiative was led by Iraurgi Berritzen, with the technical leadership of Elhuyar. The project is experimental and it is expected that the municipalities of the region and the development and innovation agency will continue to develop this line of work in the next courses.
