This morning the new season of the Teknopolis program, dedicated to science and technology, has been presented. This is the 20th season that starts this weekend in ETB1 and ETB2.

The session, directed by Iñaki Leturia Yurrita and Nagore Rementeria Argot, will remain the face of Teknopolis. The working group, made up of experienced scientific experts and journalists, has received numerous national and international awards. Once again, Boehringer Ingelheim is a candidate for the Journalism in Medicine Award for a report by Teknopolis.

Once again, Leturia has presented new features, especially the proof of the Portal, the most informal part of researchers in study format, or the Apperitifa, with the most interesting apps for mobile devices. In the first program the theme will be the bicycle, but “from a perspective that surprises the viewer”, he added.

According to Elhuyar CEO Leire Cancio Orueta, Teknopolis collaborates with research and innovation agents. In this way, space is one of the main exponents of Elhuyar's work as an outreach agent for the Basque network of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Cancio also thanked the sponsors for their collaboration and highlighted their collaboration with EITB. According to Cancio, “these organizations, besides being integrated in research and innovation activity, reflect their commitment to society through Teknopolis”.

For her part, Amaia Esquisabel Alegria, Director of Research of the Basque Government, recalled that the Basque Government makes a “clear commitment” to Science, Technology and Innovation. In this sense, he highlighted the importance of dissemination, making it clear that Teknopolis is a reference in it.

Finally, EITB CEO Maite Iturbe Mendialdua congratulated the program for 20 seasons and expressed her “pride” for being her travel companion. In his opinion, Teknopolis’ work in the socialization of science and technology is “indispensable” for the development of society. He also highlighted the quality of the work team.

Roberto Uribeetxeberria Ezpeleta, director of Research and Transfer at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, has carried out the work of host, highlighting the importance of Teknopolis to bring young women closer to engineering. The rest of the speakers agreed with him.

It should be noted that the presentation was held at one of the headquarters of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, in the building Orona Ideo Foundation. In fact, Mondragon Unibertsitatea is one of the sponsors of Teknopolis. The other sponsors are: Department of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Government; Department of Education of the Basque Government; Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, University of the Basque Country; Public University of Navarra; TKNIKA, Centre for Research and Applied Innovation for Professional Training; and FECYT, Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology.

Teknopolis will be broadcast every Saturday at 13:30 on ETB1 and on Sundays at 09:30 on ETB2.
