This morning the new season of the Teknopolis program, dedicated to science and technology, has been presented. This weekend starts the nineteenth season of this program produced by Elhuyar and EITB.

This season will continue as host Iñaki Leturia Yurreta, with the direction of Nagore Rementeria Argote. The team is made up of scientific experts and highly experienced journalists.

Leturia explained in his presentation that this year they intend to work on thematic topics to show “edges” on a specific topic through different reports and sections. He also comments on the topics of the first sessions: animals, genetics, old age, ice... “And we will dress everything with a renewed image,” he said. In addition to the television image, she has shown a renewed website and stressed that it is adapted to mobile devices.

In fact, the general director of Elhuyar, Leire Cancio Orueta, has warned that, despite having turned nineteen years old, Teknopolis remains a fresh and contemporary session, always responding to the new trends and demands of society.

Cancio also thanked the sponsors for their collaboration and highlighted their collaboration with EITB. According to Cancio, “their sponsorship reflects the commitment of these entities to the dissemination of science and technology.” In recognition of this commitment, the presentation was made at the headquarters of one of the sponsors, at the Research and Applied Innovation Center for Professional Training TKNIKA.

Itziar Azpeitia Iruretagoiena, head of area of the ETB Program Department, also thanked the sponsors for their words. As for Teknopolis, he stressed that it is a session “modern, competitive, actress, spectacular and educational” and recalled the awards received. “With this guarantee, ETB relies again on Teknopolis.”

Finally, the Director of Strategy and Technology of the Basque Government, Leire BilbaoElgezabal highlighted the contribution of the programme to society: "It is important that people know what is done in companies and research centers, so the Teknopolis session is necessary."

Teknopolis will be broadcast every Saturday at 13:30 ETB1 and will be repeated on Mondays at 18:15, and on ETB2 on Sundays at 09:30 and Thursdays at 11:00.
