This morning the new season of the Teknopolis programme, dedicated to science and technology, has been presented. In fact, it will come out this weekend at ETB1 and ETB2 at the same time: 13:30 hours.
This programme, produced by Elhuyar and ETB, aims to show that science and technology can be found in every corner of everyday life.
The host, Iñaki Leturia Yurrita, will accompany the former journalists in the program. The directors will be Nagore Rementeria Argote and Leturia.
At the press conference, Leturia explained that the program has been the subject of a lifting that has led to rejuvenation and a renewed appearance. Colorful dresses, seek the balance between rhythm and depth in the topics they work. Examples of this are developments in beer-making, the Alavese dinosaurs, the search for bats in Alkiza and fire detectives.
In addition to reporting, the program includes specific sections. For example, in the preliminary test, the viewer will be able to meet the researchers closely.
The presentation took place at the headquarters of the Elhuyar Foundation. Jon Abril Olaetxea, director of Elhuyar, has thanked ETB for its support for years: “At this time it is not easy for a program to stay on TV and Teknopolis has its 22nd edition.” On the other hand, he highlighted the values of the session, especially the visibility it gives to the scientists and technologists. “In such a masculine setting it is necessary to accommodate women and feminists.”
Amaia Esquisabel Alegre, Director of Scientific Policy of the Basque Government, has emphasized education and social inclusion. According to him, the Basque Government “makes a special effort to socialize science, technology and innovation”, as shown by support for Teknopolis.
The ETB1 subdirector of programmes, Xabier Aurrekoetxea, has highlighted the qualitative challenge of Teknopolis and the “quantitative” challenge. In the last season, viewers have “remarkably” gone up and encouraged the team to work hard to climb one more step.
Finally, April thanked the sponsors and collaborators in the new edition of Teknopolis for their collaboration in the program: EITB, Department of Economic Development and Infrastructure and Department of Education of the Basque Government, University of the Basque Country, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Universidad Pública de Navarra, TKNIKA, research and innovation center applied to Vocational Training, Ente Vasco de la Energia and FECYT Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología.
