Today the “Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka | Gipuzkoa” fair was held in Usurbil. The 73 young people who have participated in the fair have had the opportunity to present the projects they have developed during the course in the morning at the fronton of Usurbil. Jon Abril also attended Olaetxea, general coordinator of Elhuyar, Agurtzane Solaberrieta Mesa, Mayor of Usurbil and Xabier Aranburu Leiva, Councillor for Education of Usurbil.

A total of 73 young people from 12 to 18 years old participated: 49 girls (67%) and 24 boys (33%). The young people came from these 11 Gipuzkoan educational centers: Beasaingo La Salle, Hernani BHI, Ies Zubiri Manteo BHI, La Salle San Luis, Lizardi BHI, Oriarte BHI, Talaia BHI, Txindoki BHI, Ikzarastola Ikagueta Students have submitted 17 projects prepared throughout the year.

The objective of Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka is to offer scientific experiences to young students and to promote and disseminate scientific culture. It is worth noting the participation of researchers and their involvement in the project in order to bring young people closer to the real world of science and technology.

This year’s was the second edition of the Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka | Gipuzkoa, which is part of the Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka trade show network. Before the Usurbil trade show, others were held: the Xalbador de Cambo College and the Piarres Larzabal College of Ziburu, as well as the “Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka Nafarroa Teknozientzia”. This year’s trade fair will end with the Elhuyar Zientzia Azoka in Bilbao, which will be held between 22 and 25 May, and in which young people from all over the Basque Country will participate.
