Elhuyar accounts 2016

• Elhuyar Group managed to match the result in 2016
• 73% of revenues come from the sale of products and services, 15% of competitive subsidies and 12% of agreements and partners

On 14 June the board of trustees of the Elhuyar Foundation approved the accounts of 2016. The board of trustees of Elhuyar consists of: Txema Pitarke (compatriot), Eustakio Arrojeria, Jesus Ugalde, Jose Mari Rodriguez, Xanti Goñi, Josu Waliño, Imanol Telleria, Jabi Duoandikoetxea, Itziar Laka, Rafa Bañales, Arantza Diaz de Desarrollo de Económico

In addition to approving the accounts of the Elhuyar Foundation, the board meeting approved the accounts of the limited companies Elhuyar Zubize and Eleka, owned by the foundation.

The Elhuyar group managed to equate the result in 2016, but to reach this result it was necessary to maintain the wage decline of the workers.

Elhuyar earned revenues of almost 5 million euros in 2016. Of these, 73% come from the sale of products and services, 15% from competitive subsidies and 12% from agreements and partners.

Numerous projects came to light in 2016. Among other initiatives we highlight the continuation of the ElkarOla project, following with the work carried out for years in linguistic technology, and the incorporation into machine translation based on neural networks; the celebration of 25 years of Elhuyar in the plans of Basque; the elaboration of the vocabulary of the company Egamaster; the publication of the dictionary Collins-Elhuyar euskera-English and English-Basque app; the experience of the application of Basque science.

In 2016 some data were also relevant: we were present in six research and development projects; the number of users of our websites and applications grew by 75% and we were immersed in four European projects.

In order for the projects developed by Elhuyar to thrive, it is essential to collaborate with collaborating entities and companies and individual partners. Elhuyar has 407 individual partners and we have the following collaborating entities: Department of Economic Development and Infrastructure of the Basque Government, Department of Education of the Basque Government, Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and City Council of Usurbil. As collaborating companies we were with the cooperative Kaiku, the cooperative Maier, Tecnalia, NEIKER-Tecnalia, Danobat Group, the cooperative Doilantegia, Eika, Irizar, Kide, Lagun Aro and Ulma in 2016.
