Elhuyar's R&D group participates today and tomorrow in the SemEval congress held in Denver (Colorado, USA). SemEval is an important international congress in the field of language technologies. Its main objective is the realization of competitions between tools based on the processing of semantics.

Two members of the Elhuyar R&D group, Iñaki San Vicente and Xabier Saralegi participated in one of them, together with Rodrigo Ager, member of the IXA Group, in the sentiment analysis competition based on aspects. The task they've had to do is to identify what you think of a phrase that opines (aspect) and classify whether it's positive or negative. In the aspect detection subtask our system is ranked 1. In the polarity detection subtask we have had simpler results in two domains (reviews of restaurants and laptops), but we have stayed 3 in the domain of hotel reviews, which despite being the most difficult domain, since no previous data of system adjustment were offered.

Iñaki San Vicente will present this afternoon at SemEval the work done.
