The young people of the Betabot group of the ikastola Lauro had the presence of young Basque researchers from the Science Fair that Elhuyar celebrates every year in Bilbao The Betabot group of the Ikastola Lauro has been the winner of the Grand Prix of the 10th edition of Galiciencia. The Science Fair, organized by Elhuyar in Bilbao, was held last April at the Tecnopole Technology Park in Ourense. The young people who have had the collaboration of Professor Amaia Perez Etxebarria in Ourense have been recognized with the work “Opening communication channels in education”. The Fair of Galicia has gathered in its 10th edition fourteen projects. Young people from Lauro Ikastola and Lauaxeta Ikastola have represented young Basque researchers, and young people from Lauroko have done research and technological work to develop an application that aims to improve education. Betabot's work has been very well received by visitors to the Gallery, and on the last day the Lauro team has received the first of the three major awards that the entire initiative awards. Through the agreements signed by Elhuyar with national and international scientific fairs, the aim is to reinforce the scientific experiences of young people, influencing the empowerment of young people and encouraging scientific vocations. In this sense, also thanks to the prize they have received in Galicia, these young people will attend the Exporecerca Fair in Barcelona in March 2016.
