Yesterday was celebrated the awards ceremony of the sixth ON ZIENTZIA Video Contest organized by Elhuyar and the DIPC, in which the diversity in the award-winning works, the age and origin of the participants.During these six years has been created a wide consultation base (270 videos) that can be consulted on the web www.onzientzia.tv.

The ON ZIENTZIA Competition, organized by Elhuyar and DIPC within the television program Teknopolis, aims to produce and broadcast short and original videos on science and technology. Yesterday the six awards of this year were presented in the auditorium of the headquarters of DSS2016. Humor was the protagonist of the event, in which in addition to the prizes of the three categories three special mentions were distributed. The prize was awarded by the Deputy Minister of Universities and Research of the Basque Government, Adolfo Morais.

DICP-Elhuyar On zientzia Video Contest

The winning videos are:

- Award for best informative video (3.000 €): Julio Ruiz Monteaguori, high school teacher in Slovakia, for the video Soy esa bacteria that lives in your intestine.

- Award for best video in Basque (2.000 €): Mikel Ramirez, audiovisual professional, for the video Telescopes.

- Young Prize (1.000 €): Leonel Virosta (17 years) for his video The mechanism of life.

- Special mentions: Eneko Amezua (for the video The Myth of Archimedes), 1st ESO students from Elorrio (for the video The Asian Wasp), and Guillermo Ordasi (for the effort to present 4 totally different videos at age 17).

Of the 53 videos submitted to the sixth contest, 26 belonged to the Gazte Saria section and 19 to the Basque language. With the addition of these new works, the website www.onzientzia.tv already has a consultation base of 270 videos.

Teknopolis will issue in a special program the award ceremony, as well as the award-winning works and statements of the winners. The session will be on May 28 in ETB1 and May 29 in ETB2.
