Elhuyar Aholkularitza, together with five other European entities, participates in a European project on the importance of language management in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) (EPIC: Enhancing and Promoting International Business Communication). This project has two main objectives: the first, to analyze all aspects of linguistic management in companies and institutions, and that each of the project members transfer this theory to the socioeconomic and cultural characteristics of their country; and the second, to form advisors for the realization of language audits in SMEs.
The first goal is worked out and it is time to tackle the second. To do this, in early December, several people from the university and business world will receive an intensive two-day training course. The trainers will be Stephen Hagen and Peter Zoltán, who work in language management at European level. In the two-day sessions, participants will be offered a theoretical and practical aspect.
Subsequently, between January and April, participants will conduct language audits in different companies. To conclude, they must draft and submit a report that collects the information collected: the current situation of language management, strengths and weaknesses and aspects to be improved.
The training will take place at the headquarters of Elhuyar, in Usurbil, on 3 and 4 December.
Invitation Stephen
Hagen, who comes to teach, has carried out a series of studies that analyze the impact of good language management in companies (see profile). If you would like to have a conversation with Stephen Hagen, please contact us. It will be on December 3 in Usurbil.
