The Language and Technology unit of Elhuyar will manage Euskalbar from now on
It has been almost ten years since Juanan Pereira published the first version of Euskalbar. The two main maintainers, Julen Ruiz and Asier Sarasua are going to take a step back and the Elhuyar Language and Technology unit will be in charge of the management of Euskalbar, led by Igor Leturia.
The development of Euskalbar will continue with the philosophy of free software. To save the code and new changes we will continue to use the GitHub site and as so far, the contributions of anyone who wants to collaborate (write new code, notify and correct errors, etc.) will be welcome.
Euskalbar is a very useful resource for anyone who writes in Basque, since it facilitates and streamlines the search in dictionaries, corpus and style books. It has already been downloaded 240,000 times from the Mozilla supplement website and currently has 8,000 active users.
