Ber2Tek is a collaborative project between Elhuyar, UPV's IXA and Aholkularitza research groups and Vicomtech-IK4 and Tecnalia technology centres. This three-year strategic project (2012-2014) was funded by the Basque Government through the Etortek programme.

The main objective of the Ber2Tek project has been research into language and speech technologies and making the results of application research available to the public. To show how these technologies can contribute to the language industry, three demos have been built in the fields of digital content, translation and language teaching, since the language industry and especially the Basque industry need advanced technologies to be competitive in a globalized, interconnected and multilingual environment.

In the field of digital content, a demo of automatic extraction of opinions in literary criticism has been prepared; in the field of translation, a demo of a video search engine (automatic transcription and dubbing); and in the field of teaching, a demo of a personal tutor by online voice. At the appearance on 27 May, Ber2Tek will present the project and the created demos.
