Most Elhuyar employees have decided to join the call for International Women's Day. For this we will use different formulas. Some will strike all day and others will do a job of several hours.

Elhuyar has decided to allocate the money that will stop paying for these strikes to a project of internal equality.

Also, some workers who work throughout the day will receive the corresponding remuneration for this project.

Unanimously, the project we want to subsidize has been decided: Update Elhuyar dictionaries from an equal perspective.

Elhuyar has spent years working on gender perspective and inclusion in online dictionaries. He has dedicated many resources to this, but it is a continuous work that will be promoted through this initiative.

As an example, below are some of the changes that have occurred in the elaboration of dictionaries.

• Some roles or topics have been avoided in examples such as grinding:
  • Before: in the grinding of corn the miller helps his wife: the miller of corn miller helps his wife.
  • Now: the miller brought grinding every week: the sorcerer brought eiheraldia weekly.
• A specific work has been done in the professions to take into account both genres, for example, the entries of "rider" in Spanish s.m. (masculine noun) previously had only category, but in the current edition, s. (noun).
• The presence of women in sports and professional entrances is increasing, for example in the "pilot" entry:
  • the pilot waited for the captain's orders: the pilot waited for the captain's orders.
