The PuntuEUS Foundation presented on December 2 at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao the results of its Observatory. The objective of the observatory is to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze the presence and health of Basque on the Internet.

One of the fundamental pillars of the Observatory is the technology developed by the Elhuyar Language and Technology unit, which allows automatic analysis of all the websites of the Basque Country. In this study, the contents of the web pages are classified according to the language. It is an essential step to analyze the presence of Basque and measure its situation with respect to other languages. The technology developed by Elhuyar incorporates advanced crawlin techniques and linguistic detection.
