The renovated Encyclopedic Dictionary of Science and Technology is an encyclopedic Internet project that offers up-to-date and quality reference information in Basque in the field of science and technology.

Based on the work of the same name published by Elhuyar in 2009, a wider project has been launched on the net. Initially, with the collaboration of UPV-EHU and Laboral Kutxa, the Encyclopedic Dictionary of Science and Technology saw the light and participated in the project about 200 Basque experts. Once again we have accompanied Laboral Kutxa and many of them.
Now we want to expand the network of experts who will feed the dictionary. Therefore, the new dictionary is based on participation and collaboration. A specifically designed digital platform allows you to create and edit content on the network. In addition, the dictionary contents contain, by default, the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license, that is, they can be used freely.
Anyone who wishes can participate in the updating and elaboration of the dictionary: teachers and students of science and technology; researchers, technicians and professionals of the production and services sector; translators, journalists and writers; people with scientific and technological concerns; etc. For this it is only necessary to register.
The proposals of the enrollees will then be supervised by a team of experts that will ensure the quality and reliability of the published, both in its content and in its language.
The dictionary, as it was previously on the net, contains scientific and technological terminology in four languages: Basque, English, Spanish and French. In addition to the terms, it includes definitions, articles and images.
The Encyclopedic Dictionary of Science and Technology is available in https://zthiztegia.elhuyar.eus/.
